Catwalk Trend Spring/Summer 2019: Branded Jewelry

If you’ve invested in designer stuff you want to show it off. And that’s just what the logomania trend is all about. Not just in fashion but in jewelry and accessories too branded items are making up for the biggest part of the profit for most fashion houses. And so inevitably that’s where designers put the focus. Chanel, which presented an all over branded spring collection had CHANEL earrings, multi chain necklaces, body chains and bracelets. We spotted some highly desirable, chunky Balenciaga earrings. And at Dior the metal chokers proclaimed the name of the brand. Li la logomaniaaa (in full force)!

Catwalk Trend Fall Winter 2018: Vivid Prints

Vivid & vibrant, that’s how we like our prints these days. Lead by the colorful examples of Balmain, Marni and Versace we can say our winter worries have never felt this far away. Futuristic (galaxy vibes at Balmain), nature inspired (red roses at McCartney, butterflies at McQueen, XL flowers at Valentino), household related (spoons and porcelain plates Dolce & Gabbana) or Art Deco (colorful heads at Marni). Any busy print will work and keep anyone you encounter busy (unraveling the details) of dizzy (just from looking at it). Head to toe prints work very well for the holidays and prints on prints are still a look. Have fun with it and be the prints charming in any room of any X-mas party you attend.

Catwalk Trend Fall Winter 2018: Skirt + Sweater

We’ve talked about it before. Skirts and sweaters remain a most popular combination. Pleated skirts and cable knit sweaters, but also floor sweeping tule skirts and fleece hoodies (Burberry). In fact we’ve seen so many variations to the classic combination anything goes really. We prefer the sweaters, blouses and knits as chunky as possible. But if you like your tops a bit more tight (H&M), that’s a good look too. Mix and match your way into this trend and twirl your way through winter!

Catwalk Trend Fall Winter 2018: Small Bags

A returning trend, season after season: small bags! For fall/winter they came in the shape of tiny handbags (Altuzarra), necklace-inspired (Emporio Armani, Giambattista Valli), attached to belts (Emilio Pucci) and Dolce & Gabbana even had them on a drone flying around their show venue. Whether leather (Loewe), fake leather (Stella McCartney), Velvet (Dolce & Gabbana) or fur (Chanel); a teeny tiny handbag is your go to accessory for winter. Who needs jewelry when you can have this type of bag on you all night. And, bonus, you might even be able to fit something more than a 50 cent coin into it!

Catwalk Trend Fall Winter 2018: If the shoe fits…

Bold & chunky of sheer & shiny; when it came down to footwear we saw both ends of the spectrum. Masculine & Feminine or a mix of both worlds. Cause even the chunkiest dad shoes got a shiny touch in form of diamonds (Gucci) and a metallic finish (Margiela). Not to mention the rainbow colored Burberry sneakers. Faux fur details/tassels (Balmain, Saint Laurent) might give your look that little extra something. But sparkling beads and sequins (Alberta Ferretti, Christopher Kane, Dolce & Gabbana) might do the trick too. Whatever your footwear of choice will be, make it a statement one. And don’t overthink it too much. Cause if the shoe fits..

Go to work in a pink suit, attend class in a floor sweeping pleated mint green skirt or a bright yellow tea dress. Use frills, make waves, mix materials, show some skin, opt for color, play with volume, add accessories. Make your outfit extra interesting, even on a normal working day. Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons.

Streetwear Trend Fall Winter 2018: Hats Off!

A brick in your hat, a feather in your cap; as temperatures drop it´s about time to stack up on headpieces. Beanies and berets are still all the rage. But you might look mad as a hatter wear a flapper. A fisherman´s cap might be your cap.. err cup of tea. Or a flatcap might just make your outfit. Whatever piece of headwear you´ll be rocking this winter make sure you avoid the all-too-dressed-up look or you´ll be all hat and no cattle. Found a cool cap? Hats off to you. And now you can leave your hat on (cause you´re hair has probably fallen a bit flat anyway).

Trend Report FW2018: Leather Dress

Rigid, stiff, heavy, but very classy. The leather dress plays a leading part in the new season. And it comes in it’s heaviest, thickest form if it’s up to Tods, Givenchy, Loewe and Stella McCartney. Cognac, emerald, deep blue, coral red or midnight black; your options are endless. Wear your little black dress utility inspired with lots of pockets, pins, zippers and a leather belt. Not the most easy going, soft & cosy material, but statement making nonetheless and perfect for those days when it’s leather weather!
