The menswear shows of Milan Fashion Week have come to and end. So while the fashion crowd moves on to Pareee we’re taking a quick look at some of the Milan menswear trends. Which – apart from the regular slim suit, the stripes and the checks – was about sensuality (so many torsos at sight at Armani Dsquared, Fendi and Versace) and things less sexy (Teva slippers combined with suits, as seen at Fendi, Prada and Armani). In between: some great denim variations (paint splashed, with leather details, destroyed, bleached), nude and sand colored looks (Calvin Klein, Jil Sander) and a wide selection of new & improved sweatshirts at Bottega, Calvin Klein and Antonio Marras (we just can’t seem to get enough).

What can we say, a good hat not only makes a perfect outfit, but also a beautiful picture. No wonder so many mad hatters visit fashion week every season. From felt to straw, square shaped, flappy or asymmetrical, from sober to brightly colored; a light weight hat is your go to accessory this summer. Great for that mysterious look, nice little extra SPF and completely on trend. Right Marni, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, DKNY, Acne Studios and Olympia Le-Tan? Our best bet: the white Panama. Hats off for this stylish S/S trend!

Oh animal print, we just can’t get enough of you. We might have said everything there is to say. The past few decades we have adored you more than you know of. We’ve ditched you and fallen back in love with you for so many times. And still it’s not yet over. This summer too we’re preparing to rock you like no other trend. We’ll bring the slightly updated version of you back into our closets. Sure leopard, our love, you’re our favorite this time around too. Yet we’re using you as a subtle little extra. On a pair of shoes, a shoulder bag, a silly hat. New variations come in crazy animal prints taking pretty literal. Like on that red baboon dress we shot, or the cock printed coat Mira rocks in one of our pictures. The print possibilities are endless, you’re such a wild thing!

But for everyone else the good old black & white is the safest go to color combination. No they might not even be called colors, but the styling options they provide are never ending nonetheless. You might not like prints, you could be totally against wearing dresses, perhaps high heels are you’re worst enemy, but the monochrome look you can’t resist. Fendi Catwalk Fashion Show Milan Womenswear SS2014

Today was not just the day of the Fendi show. It was a special day for the brand in many different ways. The Italian brand opened the doors of their brand new head quarters in Milan. A building with offices, showrooms, an exposition area and, apparently, the longest catwalk in the city. So it was only logical for designers Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini to hold their s/s2014 presentation in this new area. Fendi also managed to launch a brand new platform just in time for the label’s fashion show. Fendi life allows fashion fans to get interactive with the designer label. Fans can see the opening of a new boutique in Milan and virtually check out a new exhibition entitled Making Dreams: Fendi and the Cinema, which celebrates Fendi’s contribution to the cinematic world. Also they were able to watch the fashion show while it happened. And in line with all this newness they could enjoy quite a futuristic Fendi show. Models, all wearing short black wigs with bangs, became almost unrecognizable, which let us focus even more on the clothes. Designs made out of ultra fin layers of fabric in shades like red, orange, white and navy. Whether created by cut-outs, cropped tops, sheer parts or mesh fabrics, every look had a certain airiness to it. Even the pieces decorated by heavy materials like fur and leather seemed summer proof. Besides the fact that the designers sent out many looks, the show was a lot to take in. With fabrics, patterns, furry accessories, sunglasses, tiny waist belts, colorful shoes, bright lips cnadian viagra india and wigs all screaming for attention. It’s clear the Fendi show won’t go unnoticed this year.

Alberta Ferretti Catwalk Fashion Show Milan Womenswear SS2014

Known for her feminine dreamy collections, Alberta Ferretti showed a slight change of style with her summer collection. She still presented countless elegant, sheer dresses for her loyal clientèle, yet she sparked things up a bit too. Skirts got shorter, colors brighter as if she was aiming at a slightly younger audience this time. Models with strong eyebrows and sophisticated buns and poppy earrings made us think of Italian ladies (it sometimes even felt as if we were at Stefano and Domenico’s show) as Ferretti indeed referred to female viagra australia the South of Italy with her vibrant selection of summer wear. White playful, lace dresses had colorful embroidered folkloric, floral details and ribbons on them in orange, pink, red and what not. Trend Report SS2013: Opposites Attract

This season it’s all about material mixing. Of course we were already wearing shear tops with heavy skirts. Yet this time around single fashion pieces exist of a mix of fabrics. After seeing leather accents such as collars, cuffs and pockets for a few seasons it’s all about transparency this summer. Think cotton tops with sheer silky parts, satin skirts with transparent hemlines or dresses with see through mid riffs. Not cut-outs but body parts just subtly covered by a fine layer, adding some seductiveness to the look. While Viktor & Rolf created a clash with their metallic fabric, Paul Smith showed some contrast by using lace, Jason Wu opted for leather and Dolce & Gabbana blew everyone away with their use of cork. Other labels such as Blumarine, Céline, Gucci, Stella McCartney, Chloé and Chanel showed multiple variations of sheerness, sexy, tough and sportive. Looking seductive was never this chic.
