Dolce & Gabbana still don’t get enough of Sicilian culture. For their ss2014-collection they focused at the islands interaction with Greek culture in the ancient world. they used old photographs of ruined amphitheaters as prints. The Marni-show was full of contradictions, yet designer Consuelo Castiglione managed to keep the overall vibe minimal, austere and restraint. A trip to Morocco inspired Pucci-designer Peter Dundas for his ss14 collection, which was a mix of athletic wear (scuba-diving, motor-racing, trekking, boxing and running), streetwear and exotic prints and African daywear like djellabas and sarouel pants.

The Max Mara show opened with a slipdress and matching topper in a pale neutral, the first of many of these monochromatic “twin sets,” as the show notes called such combos. The collection had a minimalist, urbane mission; a cashmere head scarf was the only homespun touch in a quietly show.
