Nude, airy & sheer; three words that best describe Roya Hesam‘s spring/summer collection. The opening look, a girl dressed in a nude-colored sheer bodysuit with thin ‘spikes’ on the shoulders already set the tone for the rest of the collection. After that the models became better (less revealingly) dressed, although every creations still had it’s cutouts and openings.
Roya sent a wide range of revealing black and nude shaded jumpsuits, evening dresses, maxi skirts and blouses down the runway. She added just a touch of color (a red shaded bra and a full red look) and some metallic accents (sequins/studs). Her models looked elegant in the airy designs and appeared ready for a late night dinner on a hot summer night (yet with all looks being extremely airy they might want to bring an extra vest).

Samira Algoe & Roya Hesam Catwalk Fashion Show AIFW FW2011
On Thursday the 27th of January Roya Hesam and Samira Algoe both showed a small collection.
Roya Hesam’s collection, named Te Mana O Te Moana (Spirit of the Ocean) was designed from the vulnerability of women, yet contained a lot of strength. The show had a very Eastern feeling to it and contained beautiful shades like blues, turquoise and nudes. Hesam’s work is characterized by the use of transparent fabrics combined with covering fabrics. She also likes to use special techniques.
The menswear collection of Zem by Samira Algoe was named ‘The Sound of Mountains’. She likes to use geometric shapes and unconventional materials in her work. Algoe showed many soft tones; colors, that will remember you of the winter cold, snow, rain, breeze and bright sunlight.
