Backstage at Fabienne Chapot SS2018-show
Take a look backstage at the show of Fabienne Chapot, collection SS2018.
Model Focus: Aya Jones
Making your model debut exclusively at Prada (#holygrail)? Say hello to the 21 year old stunner Aya Jones, of Ivory Coast/French and British descent, discovered on the Rue du Rivoli in Paris. And how can you be mistaken with such endless legs, wide eyes, pillowy lips (buh-bye Kylie Jenner)and a heart-shaped face? She looks a bit like a younger version of Naomi Campbell, who happens to be her role model.
You may think this beautiful youngster has been there, done that, but it’s all yet to come. She’s the breakout star to rule fashion week. It was only for spring summer 2015 that she first set foot on the catwalk as a Prada exclusive and now she’s the face of their latest campaign. So you could’ve guessed after that first show, there was a huge line on her front door. For the last seven months she has been walking runway after runway; Viktor&Rolf, Giambattista Valli, Valentino, Dior, Nina Ricci, Paco Rabanne, Maison Martin Margiela, Sonia Rykiel, Valentino, Miu Miu, Valentino Sala Bianca 945 Haute Couture. And once you got the catwalks, you got the media. She already starred on the cover of Teen Vogue and Numéro and appeared in Japanese Vogue and CR Fashion Book.
At such a young age she has already conquered a huge part of the fashion landscape, but there are still many mountains to climb. ‘It would be a dream to have a cosmetics campaign and to work with Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton’, she tells Interview Magazine. We would definitely make a bet on this one. Who’s in?
Model focus: Alexandra Elizabeth Ljadov
We felt quite obliged to shine our light on Alexandra Elizabeth Ljadov, as she’s well on her way to becoming a real star in the fashion theatre. Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Prada, Saint Laurent Paris, Jil Sander, Chanel, Proenza Schouler; the biggest fashion labels are fighting over this 17 year old Estonian beauty who was discovered while eating at a grill festival (how charming). And this is not even half of the list. Alexandra is front runner in the list of models who walked the most runways for spring summer 2015 (a little under 70) and fall winter 2015 (74). There’s power in numbers, so it should come as no surprise that this long-legged blonde with prominent cheekbones made it to the top 10 most in-demand cat walkers of spring summer 2015, has been named as the Top Newcomers ánd transformed herself in a true Instagram queen, where she’s more than pleased to keep you updated with the most fascinating and enviable behind-the-scenes pics from her life on and off the runway. Ones she’s not walking the runway, she’s probably working on yet another major fashion shoot. Saint Laurent Paris? Check. Gucci? Check. Jil Sander? For sure. Vogue? Can’t get enough of her. Zara? Yes, that was her! And as Women’s Fashion Week SS16 is about to go down soon, for this mysterious vixen there’s only time left to clear the decks before the catwalk madness starts once more and we can start counting again.
Model Focus: Kendall Jenner
Together with Gigi Hadid, whom we discussed here earlier, Kendall Jenner is THE rising star in the fashion/modeling/showbiz industry. She rose to fame being part of the Kardashians family and therefore making her appearance on the TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians. But as soon as she turned 18 Kendall was off to make a career for herself, as a model that is. Whether her famous family helped or opposed this, the tall, slender brunette quickly got picked up by some of the biggest brands. Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Bottege Veneta, Balmain; we could hardly keep up with her. Givenchy, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs campaigns in the pocket. Vogue, Interview, Harpers and Love magazine features all around. Famous friends Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin always by her side. Not to mention her flings with superstars like Justin Bieber and Harry Styles. Whether she’s chilling at Coachella, having a good time at a Chris Brown concert or hosting an MTV award show; Kendall is always in the right place, at the right time, surrounded by the right people. There’s no stopping this Jenner. And this is all just the beginning..
Model Focus: Rianne Van Rompaey

She exclusively walked the Prada and Louis Vuitton AWshows. Well, what more could a fresh faced model ask for? Rianne Van Rompaey aimed high, dared to be selective and is now taking the fashion world by storm. She may not have walked that many runways, but judging by her publications and campaigns the 19 year old Dutchie doesn’t even need that. Rianne graced the covers of iD magazine, Rika magazine and Vogue Italia. She was featured in British Vogue, Industrie magazine and Love magazine, to name just a few. Her strawberry blond hair and green penetrating eyes make this upcoming Paparazzi Model Management talent easy to remember and hard to forget.
Model Focus: Gigi Hadid
She’s half Dutch, so obviously we’re fans. Yet it’s not just us Dutchies that admire Gigi Hadid. The cool kid is taking the fashion world by storm, popping up at the biggest fashion shows, campaigns and major magazine shoots. She has her mother’s modeling genes and her father’s exotic touch, so she’s truly an outstanding beauty. But her success factor has a lot to do with her clique as well. Gigi hangs out with the coolest kids in the industry. She parties with A-listers like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson and Kendall Jenner; the blonde it-girl knows how to get noticed. Whether she’s being photographed in a Chanel two piece for Vogue or rocking a bright colored bikini for Sports Illustrated, Gigi is the ultimate model babe. All camera’s pointed at her. This star keeps on rising.

Anna Sui Catwalk Fashion Show New York FW2011/2012

Anna Sui’s collection was inspired by Russian ballet, but don’t expect tutu’s and tule. No, Anna’s ballet girl had more of a rock side, working tough black and white looks.
The show was opened by three models appearing on the runway simultaneously. They wore playful black and white looks with checks, pied de poule and graphic prints.
Then the collection got more colorful as warm shaded clothes with metallic accents appeared. Like Marc Jacobs Sui also introduced several polka dot looks, so we might be seeing a lot more of those next winter. Models wore crazy hats (we saw Lindsay Wixon with a cat head on) and obvious wigs.
Towards the end of the show the collection became more luxurious showing more embellishments and layering, all matched with Sui’s wonderful leg wear. Several hippie looks in white lace formed a nice contradiction with some of the black rock and roll dresses.
Backstage Anna told the press she wanted to keep it simple this season, but of course Anna’s way of simple is still quite over the top. That means a lot of details to look at and something to like for almost anybody.
