What are you wearing during the Amsterdam Fashion Week? Your Prada-shoes, your latest Raf Simons-jacket or that vintage Gucci? Maybe we’ll spot you in Paris, Milan, New York or Amsterdam. During the fashionweeks we refresh our streetwear posts regularly. We don’t judge, we’re not the fashion-police, we just enjoy fashion and your own personal style. Next stop: Amsterdam Fashion Week.

Sage & Ivy Catwalk Fashion Show Amsterdam FW2012

Friday afternoon we rushed from the Westergasterrein (where all the Fashion Week shows are held) to the Prinsengracht in center of Amsterdam for Sage & Ivy’s fashion show. It was held in a mirror studio which was full of classic mirrors from the 18th and 19th century. Together with some lit candles and soft piano music made up for a beautiful atmosphere. The perfect setting for showing the new collection, named Pelgrimage.

With this collection designer Alexia van Engelen showed a darker side of herself than she did with her previous collections. With her dark colored designs Alexia represented an almost spiritual quest through dark and mysterious landscapes.

The show opened with one of the strongest looks of the collection in a deep green shade (the color on which Alexia based her whole color palette). It had a beautiful silhouette and gorgeous details on the front and the back, which resembled a backbone.

It was followed by a long green (fake) fur coat, which Sage & Ivy’s new Russian customers will certainly approve. Skirts with peplums, delicate tops and a transparent dress were added to the mix. Two woven leather dresses, in brown and silver, looked stunning. As did the nude colored woolen dress and suit.

With a silk printed dress, a lace top with leather cuffs and collars and a tiny polka dot print Alexia turned a little more soft and feminine again. Not everything might have been very wearable, but we’re sure many of those designs will end up in fashion magazine pretty soon.

We quickly rushed back to see princess Maxima at the next Amsterdam Fashion Week show, happy we got a chance to see this one.

Emporio Armani Catwalk Fashion Show Milan FW2012

Giorgio Armani is expecting a cold winter next year. Wrapped up in the thickest, stiffest belted leather, hidden under fedoras and swaddled in scarves his male models were sent down the runway.

The looks seemed influenced by different part of the world; forming a mix between something American and European influences with some sort of Nomad touch.

Armani’s tailoring skills again were impeccable and his eye for detailing was visible in each one of his dark (not a color in sight) looks.

The small leather accents, the right kind of ties, the slick glasses and the perfect hats gave the collection it’s coolness. And those small pointed necklace pockets (which reminded us a bit of the ones in the latest Givenchy s/s2012 womenswear collection) might just be the hit of next season.

Streetstyle Report – The Dutch Are Everywhere

Take a good look around at any international fashion week and you’ll see the Dutch are everywhere. There’s not a show without Dutch models walking in it. Also, no collection presentation is complete without some Dutch editors in the audience. To top it off more and more Dutch bloggers are going abroad to attend shows and to be captured by the growing number of streetstyle photogs.

We had a blast shooting all the ‘Dutchies’ in the streets of Milan, Paris and New York. Especially the bloggers were a joy to look at and immediately became the main target of the fashion paparazzi.

In the gallery below you can take a look at the trendy editors, bloggers and models from the Netherlands. You’ll spot our top models Saskia de Brauw and Daphne Groeneveld. You’ll see the editors from ELLE, Glamour, NRC and Het Parool. Plus, you can check the looks of bloggers Linda & Niels, Sabrina and Yara.

Streetstyle Trend: A Touch of Neon

It was one of the biggest streetstyle trends of this season: neoncolored fashion items. The bright and funky colors popped up at every fashion week. We saw fluorescent lime, eclectic green, bright orange and neon pink everywhere.

The daredevils wore neon in their actual clothing, others opted for bright accessories like bags (satchel bags,  clutches) and shoes.

A smart choice, since a touch of neon is the easiest way to pimp your whole look and go from dull to daring.

Especially on a sunny day those neon shades make a great fashion statement.
