Liselore Frowijn Show Presentation Paris FW2015

Dutch designer Liselore Frowijn made her debut this afternoon in Paris, at the first day of Paris Fashion Week FW2015. She presented a small collection in a salon environment. As a designer Liselore feels the continuous drive to capture the energy she obtains from art, music, people, and different cultures she is surrounded by, in her work. Fashion is the best medium to translate all of this in one eclectic vibe.

Preview Jan Taminiau Couture

Yesterday Jan Taminiau presented his couturecollection in Paris. Tomorrow he will officially open the Amsterdam International Fashionweek with his collection Duality. These are the thoughts of the designer regarding his collection:

“‘Duality’ is based on thoughts of a duel and of duality. A duel between different cultural traditions, heritage and innovation. It is a noble duel, almost dancelike as in fencing. With a duality of seduction, unveiling and hiding.

The dresses are comprised of a duel between two different forms and a duel between different worlds. The antique Chinese fabric is used for the most dominant, sculptural form and is placed in contrast with a more classical silhouette. The dialogue also takes places between the almost organic substance of the heavily embroidered fabric with paillettes and the sensitivity of the antique hand woven fabric.

The sculptural forms can be interpreted as a shield -or protection- for battle, but at the same time they offer intimacy, play their role in a game of concealing and seduction.”

Televizier-gala 2009: the red carpet

This weekend everyone from the Dutch television-industry was gathered at Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam. They were all there for the presentation of the best Dutch television-programme (the Dutch Emmy’s). We spotted the celebrities at the red carpet and asked them which designer’s clothes they were wearing. It appeared most of them chose a dress or suit made by a Dutch designer. Addy van den Krommenacker’s dresses came by most often. He and Edwin Oudshoorn designed the ‘winning dresses’ worn by Lieke van Lexmond (Winner Talent Award) and Yvonne Jaspers (Winner Best Female Presenter). Other celebrities rocked the red carpet in outfits from Daryl van Wouw, Jos van Raak, Monique Collignon and Django Steenbakker. Some cute short dresses from Matthew Williamson and Balmain spiced it all up. Overall most guests showed some great (Dutch) style. (Tess van Daelen)
