Is there a real difference between a fashionshow and a dogshow? Not much really, a group of poodles parading around before an audience that keeps on commenting on everything they see. Isaac Mizrahi mixed these two shows and put poodles alongside his models on Thursday in a show he called “Cake.”
There were several varieties — French, standard, miniature, pink and blue, most of them matching the outfit of the model. According to the designer the dogs were borrowed from friends or were rescue animals. The models had big black poodle poufs attached to their head. The collection was about voluminous coats made of padded foam with big bows, in the pastel green and pink colors that matched the dogs that guided the models.

Known for it’s sophisticated yet handcraft one-of-a-kind garments the Los Angeles based label Libertine sent out a colorful, artistic collection with painted plaid-prints on coats, blazers, dresses, tights and even gloves. The garments were pretty classic and chic – like short blazers, pencilskirts, dresses, tiny cardigans and coats – but the colors, prints and mix made it very modern and surprising. Electric blue, purple, fuchsia, yellow-green, red, orange and black were mixed together and made it into an upbeat collection.
Johnson Hartig and then partner Cindy Greene started Libertine in 2004 presenting vintage pieces with silk-screened graphics. After a few seasons of silence Hartig is back without his partner.
Frontrow at Hunkemöller AIFW FW2011
The place was packed at the Hunkemöller show at the last day of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. The lingerie-label held a wonderful, glamorous show and the audience enjoyed every minute of it. Here’s who we spotted frontrow.
Tony Cohen Backstage AIFW FW2011
It was busy backstage at Tony Cohen. Was it because two famous models were part of the show? Internationals Kim Feenstra and Kim Noorda walked the runway and showed their colleagues how to do that properly. Make up and hair had a glamourous yet edgy touch, and again we saw big braids – this time tied into a knot.
