After sixteen years Marc Jacobs (50) is leaving Louis Vuitton. To conclude his career the designer presented a greatest hits collection, created entirely in black, which he presented last week in Paris. To look back on his most outstanding work for Louis Vuitton we’ve selected some of his fashion highlights from our TPS-archives (see gallery below).
From his playful to his serious collections, from bright & colorful to monochrome looks, from sexy & seductive models to girls all wrapped up, from long and lean silhouettes to full figure ones, from extravagant designs to minimalistic creations, from large afros to gigantic statement hats and from old school mirrored runways to decors like an enormous carousel, elevators and not to mention the Louis Vuitton express train. Oh boy, did this man take Louis Vuitton for a ride!
And it’s not just the shows that became more impressive every season; as you can see Jacobs himself underwent quite a transformation over the years as well.
In sixteen year the company mostly known for it’s luxury goods and luggage line has become an international powerhouse thanks to Marc Jacobs’ introduction of the brand’s ready to wear line and art collaborations. Nicolas Ghesquière, or whoever is to follow Jacobs up at Louis Vuitton will have a hard time filling his designer shoes.
So like the mood of his last collection we say goodbye to Jacobs for Louis Vuitton with a little grief, but with excitement for the future. The designer genius, or fashion God as some might call him, is to focus more on his eponymous label and we can’t wait to see what he has in viagra canadian pharmacy stores for us next.

Victoria Beckham, Céline, Gucci, Rochas, Jil Sander and Proenza Schouler are all convinced: the midi skirt is the ultimate skirt style for fall. The presented theirs in a variety of shapes, materials and colors. From tailored and bright (Victoria pfizer viagra no prescription Beckham) to pastel shaded (Céline, Rochas), structured (Proenza Schouler) and elegantly printed (Louis Vuitton). Lengths varying from just below the knee to mid calf. Lots of option, so there’s a midi for (just about) everyone. Yet it must be said, this skirt is not the easiest piece of clothing. You don’t want to disappear in it and if possible a little bit of leg should still be on display. Accentuate the waist like Victoria Beckham or go for a boxy kind of silhouette as seen at Rochas. Before you know it you’ve mastered the midi!
Trend Report FW2013: Hitchcock Hype

Midi skirts, nipped waists and lots of tweed make Albert Hitchcock one of this season’s biggest inspirations. Or, actually the blonde actrices in his movies are what inspired designers like Tomas Maier (Bottega Veneta), Miuccia Prada and Dolce & Gabbana to revive those fabulous forties. A feminine trend viagra no prescription suitable for both the office and after work hours, including long gloves, waist belts, medium high pumps and a 2013 it-bag to keep things modern. Oh and make sure to try the wet hair (don’t care) and bare face make-up look the Prada ladies famously worked on the runway. A modern Hitchcock heroin should never look too polished.
Trend Report FW2013: Go Grunge

Thanks to fashion houses like Versace, Saint Laurent Paris and Givenchy we’re experiencing a major Punk & Grunge comeback in fashion. A trip back to the nineties when a careless look was all everyone wanted. Go rough with black leather motor jackets, fashion pieces that are torn apart and bring back the spikes. A black and red color palette is your best punk chic option and remember this look is viagra no rx not complete without a tartan shirt (best tied around the waist). As “long hair don’t care” seems to be the guys’ motto, it’s the girls’ hair that is getting much shorter (and either white/grey-ish or deep black). Touches of femininity are added through floral prints, sheer fabrics and sexy cut-outs. It’s going to be one of the most interesting trends this fall and besides lovers there sure will be haters, but we have a feeling the modern punk/grunge designers in our image gallery don’t really care…
Gerrit Rietveld Graduation Show 2013

Friday night the 14th of June we headed to Paradiso, Amsterdam. Not to see (or hear) an upcoming band, but to witness the graduation spectacle of six graduation students from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Directed by head of fashion Niels Klavers Charlotte Beeck, Tümay Faydaci, Alla Kuzmyk, Duran Lantink, Verena Michel and Niki Milioni presented their final collections as students.
In a special catwalk construction designs by two of the academy’s architectural design students models walked a specific route in order to let both the photographers and the audience get a good glimpse of every angle of the creations.
Where Beeck presented a small collection of constructed menswear designs, Duran Latink’s dark and daring presentation seemed to have no ending. And where Kuzmyk held things sober, Faydaci held a small Paradiso party.
One thing the collections did have in common was their uniqueness. Besides the six fashion innovators showed some off impressive techniques and styles. We’re curious to see who we will see during Amsterdam Fashion Week. Which student will start his/her own label. Or perhaps some of these young talents will start working for a big international brand… Time will tell.
See a gallery with full catwalk looks below.

In Utrecht too fashion design students were able to finally reveal their graduation collections to family, friends and press. Earlier this month twenty-one students from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht presented their final collection in the Zijdebalen Theater in Utrecht.
A mix of well constructed immediately sell-able pieces and experimental designs. Whether portraying a futuristic, oversized, architectural, mysterious, cheerful or refreshingly new image; all students proved to have their very own handwriting. A unique point of view and a determined way of working, both so utterly important in fashion.
Below two galleries; one with all the looks from every graduation show, the other with some black & white backstage shots.

The bomber jacket has been around for a few seasons now. Yet designers are still finding out new ways to work the sportive/tough fashion item. This season jackets are made out of ultra heavy or super light fabrics. From Loewe’s embossed leather, jewel applicqué variations to Stella McCartney’s translucent white example. All of a sudden making this cool, masculine jacket quite feminine. New style combinations are made and boundaries are replaced where bomber jackets appear like biker and even baseball jackets. Bomber lovers eat your heart out with this s/s2013 trend, ‘cause after this season it’s will be almost impossible for designers to come up with even more bomber alternatives.

After the skinny, the flared, the palazzo and the pajama pants a new trouser trend is taking over. This season’s trousers are looser than loose and form a mix of rave pants and pleated trousers. They’re comfortable, yet chic. They’re careless, yet cool. Perfect for a warm day (when you don’t feel like going bare legged) ‘cause you don’t wear them too close on your skin. Make ‘em chic or go grungy by opting for high heels or tough trainers. Pair them with a chic top or a relaxed Tee and don’t forget to hide your hands in your pockets for that careless it-girl appeal! In our gallery some loose pants inspiration for spring/summer from the likes of Balmain, Tibi, Lacoste and Chloé . Not all exactly rave pants, but comfy and cool nevertheless.

Trend Report SS2013: It's a wrap everybody!

As part of the Japonism trend wrap tops are popping up everywhere. Asymmetric, sheer, printed, silky or linen; the possibilities are endless. At Etro the ladies were wrapped up in floral printed tops that literally breathed the far east. Dries van Noten gave his versions a unique twist by making them sheer, by choosing gorgeous nature inspired prints and by mixing them up with his tartan hit-print. At Prada and Pucci the tops were shiny and silky, as Prada’s creations seemed only vaguely inspired by the original wrap designs. As it appeared even a regular blouse can get the same wrap treatment by tying it together with a Eastern inspired obi belt. And after going through all these images we suddenly feel the urge to start putting a belt on top of every outfit, ’cause it looks so damn cute. It’s a wrap everybody!

Now here’s a trend that is bigger on the streets that it is on the runway… chicks on kicks. Not only clothing wise we’re opting for more comfort, even our high heels are left at home more often than before. And what better alternative to wear than a good pair of sneakers! And the good thing about this trend is that you don’t have to look or feel less sexy or feminine. Even with a good pair of kicks on your feet you can be a classy lady. Combine your favorite New Balance, Converse, Isabel Marant or Nike Air Max (Yes, they’re back!) with a summer-y attire. Wear flirty skirts and dresses, preferably with bare, sunkissed legs to add some sexiness. Not sure if this trend will work for you? Get inspired by our gallery. Only a few designers dared to put their catwalk models in sporty sneakers, but at least our favorite streetstyle icons give the right example.
