Vibrant and quirky, that’s probably the best way to describe Proenza Schouler’s summer collection for next year. Designers McCollough and Hernandez brought color back into their energetic line-up. Using a bunch of new handcrafting techniques they picked up from their recent visit to Paris the duo presented a youthful serie of voluminous, asymmetric skirts and dresses. Fashion pieces with graphic prints, peepholes, pleats and lots of layering. Materials were a mix of knitwear, faux fur, woven leather and ostrich feathers glued into long strips of fabric. Funky platform shoes, handbags and oversize conceptual earrings topped of the looks that appeared almost 3D. Oh and did you see the white and yellow ear make-up? Boxy tees added an extra dose of urban coolness and wearability to the very conceptual but fun spring/summer collection.
