Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam has officially started with the downtown-program. Ten days of fashion-events downtown Amsterdam. This weekend it was all about taking a look backstage at the show of JUtka&Riska plus a workshop Walking the Runway by catwalkcoach Dyonne. The Elite Model Look scouting team was also there to spot future talents.
Next thursday the Uptown Show-program will kick off.
A few weeks ago we shot the campaign for the next edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam in january 2016. Coming wednesday the official program will be presented. Take a look behind the scenes of the shoot we did in the Gashouder at Westerpark together with Elite Models, hair-artist Tommy Hagen, Make Up Studio, the lovely people from Fashion Week Nederland and our crew. And we especially want to thank Jef Montes for lending his beautiful dress.
Making your model debut exclusively at Prada (#holygrail)? Say hello to the 21 year old stunner Aya Jones, of Ivory Coast/French and British descent, discovered on the Rue du Rivoli in Paris. And how can you be mistaken with such endless legs, wide eyes, pillowy lips (buh-bye Kylie Jenner)and a heart-shaped face? She looks a bit like a younger version of Naomi Campbell, who happens to be her role model.
You may think this beautiful youngster has been there, done that, but it’s all yet to come. She’s the breakout star to rule fashion week. It was only for spring summer 2015 that she first set foot on the catwalk as a Prada exclusive and now she’s the face of their latest campaign. So you could’ve guessed after that first show, there was a huge line on her front door. For the last seven months she has been walking runway after runway; Viktor&Rolf, Giambattista Valli, Valentino, Dior, Nina Ricci, Paco Rabanne, Maison Martin Margiela, Sonia Rykiel, Valentino, Miu Miu, Valentino Sala Bianca 945 Haute Couture. And once you got the catwalks, you got the media. She already starred on the cover of Teen Vogue and Numéro and appeared in Japanese Vogue and CR Fashion Book.
At such a young age she has already conquered a huge part of the fashion landscape, but there are still many mountains to climb. ‘It would be a dream to have a cosmetics campaign and to work with Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton’, she tells Interview Magazine. We would definitely make a bet on this one. Who’s in?
What are they wearing during the Haute Couture Week in Paris A Valentino dress, that vintage Dior or their latest Celine skirt? During the fashion weeks we refresh our streetwear posts regularly. We don’t judge, we’re not the fashion-police, we just enjoy fashion and your own personal style.

Together with Gigi Hadid, whom we discussed here earlier, Kendall Jenner is THE rising star in the fashion/modeling/showbiz industry. She rose to fame being part of the Kardashians family and therefore making her appearance on the TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians. But as soon as she turned 18 Kendall was off to make a career for herself, as a model that is. Whether her famous family helped or opposed this, the tall, slender brunette quickly got picked up by some of the biggest brands. Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Bottege Veneta, Balmain; we could hardly keep up with her. Givenchy, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs campaigns in the pocket. Vogue, Interview, Harpers and Love magazine features all around. Famous friends Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin always by her side. Not to mention her flings with superstars like Justin Bieber and Harry Styles. Whether she’s chilling at Coachella, having a good time at a Chris Brown concert or hosting an MTV award show; Kendall is always in the right place, at the right time, surrounded by the right people. There’s no stopping this Jenner. And this is all just the beginning..
“If it ain’t Dutch, it ain’t much.” Excuse our prejudice behaviour, but if you have it why not flaunt it.
And we’re more than proud of this Dutch topmodel coming from Amsterdam. Only eighteen years old and already ruling the biggest fashion shows, campaigns and major magazine shoots that most models could only dream of. She already made it to the cover of American Vogue’s September Issue (Anna Wintour even mentioned the model in her editor’s letter the first time she appeared in the magazine), walked the Victoria’s Secret Runway, was the face of Givenchy and had the privilege to open for Reed Krakoff’ show in New York. These are some of the highlights from her fast growing modelling career that started at the humble age of 14 at Amsterdam Central Station, discovered by an agent from her current agency CODE Management, thanks to her endless legs, eastern looks (a Moroccan mother and Egyptian father) and outstanding features. Along with the fashion world’s expanding of racial diversity there was no doubt about if catapulting her straight to the top, but only a matter of timing. Let’s face it; what could possibly go wrong when having a name reminiscent of powerhouses Iman Abdulmajid and Chanel Iman?
She’s half Dutch, so obviously we’re fans. Yet it’s not just us Dutchies that admire Gigi Hadid. The cool kid is taking the fashion world by storm, popping up at the biggest fashion shows, campaigns and major magazine shoots. She has her mother’s modeling genes and her father’s exotic touch, so she’s truly an outstanding beauty. But her success factor has a lot to do with her clique as well. Gigi hangs out with the coolest kids in the industry. She parties with A-listers like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson and Kendall Jenner; the blonde it-girl knows how to get noticed. Whether she’s being photographed in a Chanel two piece for Vogue or rocking a bright colored bikini for Sports Illustrated, Gigi is the ultimate model babe. All camera’s pointed at her. This star keeps on rising.
