This Saturday we were all invited to the Tripolis-complex in Amsterdam as it was time for Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s graduates to present their work to their faculty, family and press. The results of the personal and experimental learnings of seven students (Laetitzia Campbell, Erika Jonasson, Karis Lindelien, Mika Perlmutter, Bodil Ouédraogo, Krystian Sokolowski and Emma Tornsteinrud) were shown as well as a selection of the work of a few first and second years students. Their work, created mostly in a very intuitive way, expresses their view on todays fashion and what fashion will be in the future. Below are a view images of Saturdays show. The rest of the images will follow shortly.

The “Fashion Show 2019” is powered by Meester Koetsier Foundation en Temp. Zuid.

So we’ve discussed this trend for the girls (remember our SS2019 Yellow trend report?), but it works for guys too you know. Sorbet shades or just the ray of sunshine; yellow is the color of choice for a good summer fit. Just look at how the male models at Acne, Kenzo, Dior and Dries van Noten sported the color. Jackets, pants, tees or sweaters and matching bags; keep it mellow. The summer is yours.

Even some guys (read: the hottest rappers) are rocking this trend. And we’ve selected some cool streetstyle examples for you to take notes from. And if these images don’t win you over Queen Elizabeth just might. Fit for a queen, so you’re bound to like it.

Nothing says chic like a good co-ord look. A pencil skirt and cropped top, wide legged pants and a boxy blouse, denim on denim, a cute tweed set or even just a pair or joggers and a cropped hoodie. We’ve selected our favorite co-ords for this summer. Purple, beige, yellow or powdery pink; just keep it light and fresh like out streetstyle stars did. What are you co-ordinating with these days?

Jumpsuit, overall, boiler suit; no matter the right name for the fit, we just LOVE this look. Works for guys and girls and it works all the time. Business meeting, lunchdate or fashion show; a denim blue overall has got you covered. Add a little heel, a small belt, a tiny scarf and a statement bag and you’re good to go. We’re obsessed, but what’s your overall opinion?

Alexander Wang Collection 1 2020 Show

It was an ode to all American designers who paved the way for him: Alexander Wang’s Collection 1 2020 Show was inspired by his processors Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Donna Karan. The pioneers of American fashion that influenced what Alexander Wang, 35, stands for these days. And so this new collection was a bit of everything. Donna Karan’s bold shoulders and jersey bodysuits. Calvin Klein’s logo T-shirts and underwear as outerwear. Ralph Lauren’s suede fringe and boxy corduroy jacket. In the midst of all that Pete Davidson (whom Alexander Wang is a big fan of) showed up, sporting duo colored pants, a branded belt and a white tank top. The clean cut, logo branded, all white finale felt fresh and desirable. Bringing an ode to the originals might be the best cover up for copying the signature designs that made them famous and have been experiencing a comeback for the last couple of years. We can see those American flag sweaters and AW Tees taking over IG soon enough.

Inspired by lady Di perhaps or just out of comfort reasons we’re seeing baggy pants & boots popping up everywhere. An effortless & cool combination that works every single time. Joggers or workers, cowboy boots or snake skin ankle boots, which ever combo you choose can turn into a moment. Who knew looking like a princess would ever get so tough.

Hot Weather Hair Trend SS2019

It’s a hot summer day. The temperature’s rising, yet humidity’s taking over your hair. And so to avoid a frizzy coupe, here are some hairstyles to try out this season making sure your hair stays in place. Throw it up in a high bun (Fendi), try out some tight braids (Hermes), opt for the wet look (Christopher Kane, Proenza Schouler), use some hair clips (yes for this trend!) or just wear a bunch of head bands (Dior); work your magic, have a little fun with it and enjoy the most effortless hairstyles throughout this summer. No hair sticking onto your sweaty neck this season, although hair stuck to your forehead (Chalayan) is a bit of a trend.

Giambattista Valli x H&M: What to Expect

So Giambattista Valli is the new guest designer for H&M. The news was announced this Sunday evening and we all got a little preview right away. Kendall Jenner, Chiara Ferragni, Chris Lee, Ross Lynch en H.E.R. all got dressed in some of the items from the pre drop of this limited edition collection and we were all in awe. The designs will be super signature Valli and super sweet. We dug up some images from our archive that in our opinion perfectly set the mood for this upcoming designer collab. It’s going to be so tasteful with ingredients such as: tulle (layers and layers of it), volume (3D shapes) powdery pink hues, floral prints, transparency, lace, off shoulder, asymmetry (short in the front, long in the back) and towering lengths. We might get something short and sassy as well. Some feathers perhaps and a tailored (jump)suit. We’re all too excited for the collection’s launch on 7 November.
